We have an excellent opportunity for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join the team at East Ardsley Primary Academy. This will be offered on a permanent contract.
East Ardsley Primary Academy is a two-form entry school in the middle of the local community. We work passionately to equip our children with the skills, independence and resilience that makes them highly effective learners. We promote success for every child in our school,and focus on every child as an individual to give them the understanding, support and skills they need to work together as part of our team.
As a Teaching Assistant you will provide the support that will help our children succeed. You will offer general support to the teacher in the management of pupils, classroom activities and assistance in the provision of the wider school curriculum. Working compassionately, you will work with our teachers to secure good progress for all children, regardless of their abilities and capabilities. You will support the teaching of our children one to one, in groups, and as part of the whole class, while actively promoting the ethos and values of the school.
As a Teaching Assistant you will provide supervision and support to pupils on an individual or group basis to enable them access to learning. You will offer general support to the teacher in the management of pupils, classroom activities and assistance in the provision of the wider school curriculum.
Who are we looking for?
To succeed in the role, you will have good literacy and numeracy skills, be able to organise your work and priorities effectively. The ability to communicate effectively with pupils, staff and parents, work to deadlines and remain calm in a busy environment are all essential for the post.
You may be required to assist a child with special educational needs. Whilst you don’t need specific experience of working with a child with special educational needs, you do need to have a caring attitude, patience and sensitivity and understanding.
