Become a Trustee

Trustees are appointed by the five Members of Leodis Academies Trust. A diverse range of board-level skills are required to oversee the complexity of multi-academy trust governance. Leodis will seek to use your skills and experiences together with those of other board members to build a fully-rounded Board of Trustees. The non-executive director role offers opportunities for accountants, lawyers, marketing professionals, HR directors, change managers and a range of other skilled leaders.

Trustees are non-executive directors and are required to contribute between eight and twelve hours per month for board meetings and preparation.

Board positions are recruited via the Academy Ambassadors Programme, are pro-bono, and are not remunerated.

Trustees agree to a Code of Conduct, and understand their roles in relation to the Scheme of Delegation and the Nolan Principals of Public Life.

All non-executive directors that are appointed will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, by Leodis Academies Trust, and references will be taken up by the Trust.

Becoming a Trustee can be very rewarding. The Trust Board is a group of talented business leaders who are committed to the aims of Leodis Academies Trust, and work together to improve the life chances of young people, particularly the disadvantaged, in all of our schools. It is an opportunity to give back, as well as gaining company and charity non-executive experience whilst being a key part of raising standards and developing the educational experience enjoyed by our children.
