Leodis Support Service (LSS)

The Leodis Support Service is based at Woodkirk Academy, providing additional guidance and support for all students and families across Leodis Academies Trust.

We work closely with pastoral staff in the Academies to provide ‘early help’ using a wide range of additional support services, which include:

  • Support for families - one-off 'drop-in' sessions for parents/carers at each of the Trust schools every half term, 1:1 parenting support, themed coffee mornings;
  • Emotional health and wellbeing;
  • Counselling;
  • Access to external commissioned services and resources. We offer support to address all issues which may affect family functioning, wellbeing and act as a barrier to education.

We have a strong partnership with Children’s Social Work Services, which allows us to respond positively to children, young people and their families, who are experiencing difficulties and where there may be safeguarding concerns.

We are also committed to sharing information about local activities and services, for example, through the Youth Service and Breeze, both during term-time and throughout the school holidays, to enable children and young people to have more positive experiences in their free time. Our Activities page will be updated regularly with all of the latest events and activities available.

Victoria Hayden

Leodis Support Service Co-ordinator

Victoria Hayden has worked within Leodis Academies Trust schools since 2014, initially as part of Ardsley and Tingley Cluster, and with Leodis Support Service since 2017, amassing plenty of knowledge, contacts and experience along the way.

Victoria is passionate about providing a service for young people and their families in the local community, to help overcome any difficulties or barriers which prevent them from having a positive experience during their early life and time at school.
